good nite everyone
Bec here. It is now 1.30am. Dad is comfortable and very sleepy. Mum and I are here in the room with him for the night. He felt that we needed to be more active about posting photos on the blog and so I am attempting to post one that I just took of him with my phone! Also I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the visits, the phone calls and the blog comments. We read the comments to dad a few times a day. Please don't take offense if you call and we do not pick up- of course we aren't screening calls, just sometimes we cannot answer. So please keep calling, dad loves to hear from you all. Good nite everyone, and may tomorrow be a lovely day for all

Dear Geoff,Chris and family,
ReplyDeleteHow blessed you are Geoff to be surrounded by such love of Chris, your children and your grandson and so many friends.
I can only admire your and Christine's strength.
I am thinking of you all.
Geoff,
ReplyDeleteyou look very much at peace, which must be both a comfort to your family and to those who love you.
Your strength and courage have been exemplary and you are (and always will be) a hard act to follow! Your leadership over the years shines brightly as a light for us younger ones to follow.
You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
God bless you and your family.
Edwin
Hi Uncle Geoff and Auntie Chris,
ReplyDeleteIt was great to be able to catch up in Oxford not long ago...
I always looked forward to hearing about all of your adventures, and always left smiling and buzzing about all of the possibilities that are out there!
Back home, when you visited, I always loved hearing about your fascinating work (with the crazy imaging and adventures all over the world), and also about all of the interesting and inspirational things Ben, Bec and Sam were (and still are) achieving. It certainly broadened my horizons, and will continue to do so.
And the last time in Oxford, hearing your tales of times on small islands (among others) was just wonderful.
Thankyou for all of your patient advice and colourful inspiration, and for the scones, dinners, stories and laughs (there's just something about the McLennan sense of humour and twinkle in your eyes that makes me smile just thinking about it...).
Big love to you and the whole family, am thinking of you too.

ReplyDeleteG'day Geoff,
ReplyDeleteFollowing your amazing blog closely. A very sobering experience. Just thinking after reading some of the posts here - your main influence on me was a bit indirect - your left handed golf clubs you left in Adelaide helped me get out of many a tricky situation impossible for a right hander. May your peaceful state here continue.
Duncan in Mackay.
Such a dear picture of such a dear and inspirational man. We are thinking of all of you constantly and sending love.

We're thinking of you always; have some thoughts to share and sent those on to Chris via email, since I had a bit of trouble keeping it short enough to post as a comment here. Hugs to you all, leslie
ReplyDeleteDear Geoff
ReplyDeleteYou have touched me and my family in a very positive way. Kim is indebted to you for the inspiration you instilled in her. You are an example she tries to look up to. From the little time I spent talking to you mostly at Java House I admired your endeavor to get to know everybody on a personal level. You are a "common man" man- and only a few people I know are like that. Sorry if this sounds awkward, but I love you for that. Our prayers are with you.
