Funeral arrangements

Dad's funeral will be held on Friday the 30th, at 3pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Iowa City.  There will be a chance for those who would like to say something about him to speak at the reception to follow the service.  If you cannot make it, or do not feel that you can speak but want to say something, your words can be sent to Rev. Mark W. Martin at pastormwm@mchsi.com.  He will read the comments either during the service, or they will be read during the reception, depending on how many we get.  A memorial service will be held in Adelaide at a later date, but I would encourage friends and family in Australia to write something for the service here.
Memorials may be made to the Geoffrey McLennan Faculty Fellowship Fund at the University of Iowa Foundation. UI Foundation, PO Box 4550, iowa city 52244-4550

  1. a few days after the death of Pete (Geoffs brother and my very special friend) Geoff, Chris
and Beccy came to my home in the Adelaide Hills, for dinner and family stuff..Before we
went into the house I said to Geoff "I have
something to show you that will lift your heart just a little bit"
I led them to a large gum tree
in my garden there were 3 koala bears sunning
themselves. Geoff looked and looked again
He then momentarilly smiled.... As he walked away
he said "ok you can take them down now"
Even in the midst of so much sadness his sense of
humour shone through I loved him so much and
    will miss so much Bev

  2. Chris, Rebecca, Ben, and Sam:
Someone had sent me info of Geoff's passing. We were in South Dakota on vacation. I knew I needed to stop down and see him before we left on vacation as I feared he may not be here when we got back. He was an amazing man, a very down-to-earth individual, always having the time to say 'hello'. I will miss him greatly but I know he is at peace now. I don't know the right words to say to you, his family. Chris, you are an amazing woman.
My condolences to all of you.
    Teri
